- Nepali Pathsala will run in Charles Cambpell College from Term 3
- We are also changing our class running day back to Sunday from Term 3.
Dear Parents/Members
After several years of running in community halls and temporary rooms, we are finally moving to a school building, that will provide us enough space, better environment and facilities required to run school.
This week we have signed contract with CLSSA to use “Charles Campbell College, Paradise” for our school venue. CLSSA has been developing multiple schools around Adelaide as Community Language Hub, and Charles Campbell is one such schools. For now, we have been allocated 4 rooms that will be used for our dance class and regular class.
FAQ
- Why do we need to change the current venue ?
As the current venue (Holden Hill Community Hall) is not purpose built for running school for children, we have been having several issues raised by parents, tea tree gully and in CLSSA’s site visit. This includes not having enough toilets, public access to classroom, vandalism to the facilities etc. So current facility was always considered a temporary facility – until more suitable venue was found.
2. Why are we changing the day back to Sunday ?
As you remember, we changed our running day from Sunday to Saturday in the beginning of this year. The only reason behind this change was that – we needed an additional room due to growing student number and Holden hill community center had the main hall available only on Saturday. However, as an unfortunate consequence, this change in day resulted in reduction of students and volunteers attendance. We are currently at critical point for volunteers as we struggle to manage the roster with very small number of available personnel. We expect this reversal back to Sunday will at least take us back to where we were in the beginning of year in terms of number of volunteers and students attendance.
3. As Parent, what should I know ?
Charles Campbell College is in Campbell road, Paradise (approximate 10 mins drive distance from current venue). School has plenty parking spots available. When you arrive at school, please drop your child inside the school and leave. (You are not allowed to enter/stay in the classroom – and the building where class is running). You can stay outside the school building while waiting your children.
There is no change to our class schedule other than moving from Saturday to Sunday. Timing remains same ( dance : 9.30 – 10.30, class : 10.30-12.30).
4. What happens to our parents’ activities ?
Unfortunately, moving from community hall to purpose built school facility means, we will not have the luxury of using the facilities for other activities including parents’ dance practice, bhajan practice. As this falls outside of School’s scope ( and is under our Nepali Pathsala Inc. organisation’s scope ), we will need to find other alternatives. We are looking for potential options and will appreciate your input/suggestions.
5. As parent, how can I help ?
We strongly encourage our parents to join us as volunteer/school running personnel. To join, you will need valid working with children check. After you are registered as volunteer, we will organise a one day (face to face ) Child Safe Environment training, that usually runs on Saturday by CLSSA for members for FREE.
6. I have questions or concerns. How do I contact the school personnel ?
You can personally visit and talk to us on school day if you can. Otherwise please visit our website as below and contact for any questions or concerns.
